Canadian singer, songwriter Celine Dion, 54, revealed on Thursday that she has a rare and incurable neurological disease.
Celine Dion said she is suffering from a disorder called the āstiff person syndrome.ā
Recall, Celine Dion in January was forced toĀ cancelĀ the remaining shows of the North American leg of her āCourage World Tourā due to her health problems.
Celine Dion had been experiencing āsevere and persistent muscle spasmsā that prevented her from performing.
Celine Dion on Thursday said her muscle spasms are preventing her from performing so canceled her 2023 shows as well.
āHello everyone, Iām sorry itās taken me so long to reach out to you. I miss you all so much and canāt wait to be on stage talking to you in person,ā Dion said.
She continued, āAs you know, Iāve always been an open book and I wasnāt ready to say anything before but Iām ready now.ā
āIāve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it has been really difficult for me to face my challenges and to talk about everything that Iāve been going through,ā she said.
Celine Dion said the disorder affects āone in a million.ā
āRecently, Iāve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called the stiff person syndrome, which affects one in a million people.ā
āWhile weāre still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is whatās been causing all the spasms Iāve been having.ā
Celine Dion told her fans that she wishes to presume her tours in 2024.
