The Ohio State soccer program acquired extra quarterback reinforcements over the weekend, as five-star freshman Quinn Ewers lastly arrived on campus in Columbus.
By now, most everybody is aware of that Ewers was presupposed to be gearing as much as play his senior season at Southlake Carroll High School in Texas. But after modifications have been made permitting faculty athletes to capitalize off of their title, picture and likeness, Ewers had a change of plans.
Instead of being an element of Ohio State’s 2022 recruiting class, the nation’s high general participant reclassified to the category of 2021 and can now compete to earn some type of function with the Buckeyes.

The Ohio State quarterback room is now suffering from much more expertise.
Ewers joins Kyle McCord because the second five-star sign caller who’s half of that 2021 recruiting class. Surprisingly sufficient, it’s doable — seemingly, even — that neither one of these first-year gamers will make the 2 deep, as C.J. Stroud and Jack Miller proceed to battle it out for the beginning job.
Still, simply have a look at this group:
- Quinn Ewers: 5-star / No. 1 general / No. 1 QB (2021)
- Kyle McCord: 5-star / No. 28 general / No. 6 QB (2021)
- C.J. Stroud: 4-star / No. 42 general / No. 2 PS-QB (2020)
- Jack Miller: 4-star / No. 334 general / No. 13 PS-QB (2020)
Four quarterbacks within the final two courses, three of whom have been top-50 gamers.
The Buckeyes may quickly be coping with that different new rule made throughout the offseason. You know, the one that permits gamers to switch as soon as with out the penalty of sitting out? With that crop of younger expertise, it’s unlikely that they’re capable of maintain all of them.
But man it’s a formidable assortment of expertise regardless.
