A group faculty board in Rochester, Michigan is coping with a case of tattletales throughout the district, although this time, it’s the board members, not the children, who’re doing the snitching.
The Detroit News studies that members of the Rochester Community School Board and district superintendent Robert Shaner contacted the employers of fogeys whose social media posts they deemed “concerning” or “aggressive,” in keeping with a lawsuit filed in May 2021.
Only the publish weren’t really “concerning” or “aggressive.” They typically simply expressed the idea that colleges must be open amid overblown COVID considerations.
Simply put, mother and father didn’t agree with the district’s choice to show college students remotely. If and once they voiced their displeasure on social media, Shaner and the varsity board contacted their employers and hinted that they’d made threats towards the varsity board. During a deposition earlier final month, Shaner admitted to calling the employers of some mother and father. In no less than one case, a dad or mum concerned misplaced his or her job consequently.
Clearly, widespread sense and human decency are now not a part of the Rochester Community Schools curriculum.
Rather than fess up, Shaner used his deposition to congratulate himself and the varsity board members for monitoring mother and father’ social media exercise so rigorously.
“Yeah, so again, I just want to be clear about the social media. We do watch it and try to make sure we know what’s going on in our community, but that’s not the only place that we get information on social media,” Shaner mentioned by way of The Detroit News.
“Believe it or not, there are parents that support what we are doing, and they often share what’s going on in social media with us as well…Yeah, we value the input of all parents, and we certainly want to keep our thumb on the pulse of the community, so we monitor social media very closely on all fronts and make sure we’re responsive to the community.”
Various studies point out the varsity board has settled the lawsuit, however neither the varsity nor any plaintiffs have confirmed that data.
Once once more, squealing was the unsuitable alternative, and now Shaner and the tattletales on the Rochester School Board come out wanting like pigs.
