Former PGA champion Phil Mickelson has run into hassle with one more sponsor following his feedback expressing willingness to be part of a golf league sponsored by Saudi Arabia.
Callaway Golf, a maker of golf balls, golf equipment, footwear, and a number of other different sorts of golf equipment, determined to pause its 17-year relationship with Mickelson after he performed within the league regardless of the Arab nation’s “horrible record on human rights.”

Despite the apology, Mickelson has seen a slew of his sponsors both pause or finish their relationship with him over the feedback, most notably longtime accomplice KPMG.

“It was reckless, I offended people, and I am deeply sorry for my choice of words,” Mickelson stated in his assertion. “I’m past upset and can make each effort to self-reflect and study from this.
“My intent was never to hurt anyone and I’m so sorry to the people I have negatively impacted. This has always been about supporting the players and the game and I appreciate all the people who have given me the benefit of the doubt.”
Mickelson has indicated a need to step away from the sport amid the controversy over the feedback.
